Today. the 10.th of july, four representatives from Sukuma Museum, Bujora, arrived at Billund airport in Denmark.
They have been invited by Utamaduni cultural assosiation in Denmark, to participate in this years Utamaduni camp in Ramten Skov, Aarhus county.
In late 2014 Bujora Cultura Centre had visitors from Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), as they wanted to promote Bujora and the tourism in the lake region. See below a 5 minute video showing and telling the history of Bujora, and shows examples from shindano in Ngogo.
In the anual contest for traditional drum dance, called “Mashindano ya Ngoma”, Bujora dancetroupe succeded to win the prize as NUMBER ONE!
At august 12. there were a great gathering of traditional drum-dance groups at Bujora Sukuma Museum. Shilungu is a song about the loss of cultural identity. It reminds people where they come from and how to reconnect with traditional culture.
